    Dianthus

The drought-tolerant ‘Little Maiden’ is bred to be more compact with denser cushions than the common dianthus. The thin, grasslike leaves have a slight bluish hue and are topped with dozens of pure-white, fringed blooms on short (4-inch) stems. This variety is winter hardy to Zone 3.

‘Bishop’s Form’ is an alpine perennial with masses of flowers from spring to fall. With a cushion-forming habit, this variety is suitable for rock gardens, combinations, borders and groundcovers. Hardy to Zones 7 to 10, ‘Bishop’s Form’ prefers sunny areas and partial shade.

    Tibouchina

‘Tropical Princess’ features a compact, trailing habit and can be used in hanging baskets, tubs or mixed balcony boxes. This variety should be potted in December in a well-drained, lightly fertilized peat soil with a pH of 4.5-5.0. It should be pinched back once and regularly kept slightly damp. Dryness and stagnant moisture lead to a prompt leaf drop.
