New Fungus May Control Whiteflies

A fungus spotted on eggplant-feeding insects in Texas may become a new biological control for whiteflies. The new fungus, Isaria propawskii, has been shown to kill larval and adult silverleaf whiteflies. The fungus may also protect against another major pest, the glassywinged sharpshooter.

USDA Issues Quarantine To Prevent LBAM Spread

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued a federal quarantine order restricting interstate movement of cut flowers, cut foliage, plants and other products from several counties in California and the entire state of Hawaii. The purpose of this order is to prevent the spread of the Light Brown Apple Moth.

EPA Calls For Liverwort Comments

APHIS To Hold Public Discussion
